Pornographic Threat

The state of Maryland has deep budget deficits. Its counties and the Washington Area Metropolitan Transportation System are cutting services. And the Maryland Senate is fixated on a pornographic movie.

Maryland’s Senate threatened to cut off public funds to the University of Maryland and any other college that screened a pornographic movie. Did it matter that the screening was part of a national debate over pornography? No.

Apparently, again sex is so fear inducing that universities, with their adult populace, can not show movies and engage in debate about it. Another round of censorship battles enjoined and the censors are the winners!

The trailer for the movie  “Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge,” is rather tame.   Seems like a camp fest to me! Here’s the listing of its Awards.
